L’Eidoscope est spécialement conçu pour le soft focus : à pleine ouverture, l’aberration sphérique volontaire produit un rendu enveloppant et lumineux, avec de magnifiques halos et transitions. En diaphragmant, l’image gagne progressivement en définition.
Cette version 275 mm était optimisée pour le 13×18 / half plate ; son cercle d’image peut permettre d’explorer des formats plus grands jusqu’au 8×10 .
Très bel exemplaire : verres parfaits et bague de diaphragme parfaitement fluide. Une optique rare, légère et surtout dotée d’un rendu impossible à confondre avec celui d’une optique moderne !

The Eidoscope was specifically designed as a soft-focus lens: wide open, deliberate spherical aberration creates a beautiful glowing rendering, with wonderful halos and smooth transitions. Stopping down progressively increases sharpness and definition.
This 275mm version was originally optimized for 13×18cm / half-plate, while its image circle allows larger formats to be explored, up to 8×10 .
