La célèbre formule Tessar, créée par Paul Rudolph chez Zeiss en 1902, s’est rapidement imposée pour sa très belle définition, son contraste et sa construction compacte. Avec ses 180 mm, cet exemplaire constitue une excellente optique ancienne pour le grand format, tout en restant minuscule et léger comparé aux imposants objectifs de portrait de la même époque.
Le fût et les verres sont remarquablement conservés, et l'objectif est accompagné de ses bouchons. Une petite optique Zeiss aussi jolie à utiliser qu’à collectionner !

The famous Tessar optical formula, designed by Paul Rudolph at Zeiss in 1902, quickly became renowned for its excellent sharpness, contrast and compact construction. At 180mm, this example makes a wonderful antique large-format lens while remaining remarkably small and lightweight compared with the massive portrait lenses of the same period.
Both the barrel and glass are beautifully preserved, and the lens comes with its caps. A lovely little Zeiss lens, equally appealing to use or to collect!
